Zero-Knowledge Proof promotes privacy in age verification

7/9/2026

Show notes

Google has just open-sourced its Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) libraries, fulfilling a promise and making developers' lives easier. In practical terms, ZKP allows you to prove something about yourself is true (such as being over 18) without revealing any other personal information. This is fundamental for privacy and for building digital identity solutions, a significant boost for the public and private sectors, especially with the EU's eIDAS regulation and the EUDI Wallet approaching in 2026. Developers can now integrate these powerful tools into their applications, accelerating a more secure and private digital ecosystem. The code is on GitHub.

Why it matters: Open ZKP tools simplify building privacy-by-design apps, essential for regulatory compliance and for a more secure digital future.
